SOA, the Movie… (trailer)

This looks quite funky…

(good excuse for me to try out the YouTube embedding functionality in WordPress.com, too, since I hadn’t had the chance to do so yet… like so many other features on WP.com, it “just works”)

  1. What i would like to ask on a serious note, if you use youtube or any other music video codes on your blog can you be done for copyright. People who own blogs are not actually hosting the video themselves they are hosted by the company that is supplying the code, so are they liable in law are are the bloggers liable as well.

  2. Good question, and one to which I don’t have an answer. I don’t think I’ll be posting non-free videos anyway, so I hope that won’t affect me. I believe that various organisations are gunning for YouTube already, given the amount of dodgy content that seems to end up there. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

  3. Just to let you know that Myspace have had a war going on in the courts if my sources are correct in putting such videos on their site and the whole problem is that they were actually hosting the video.. So not to sure about the everyday blogger allowing readers to put videos on there by obtaining codes from YouTube because YouTube are the ones that are hosting it….

I have mentioned this because us bloggers must stick together we dont want to get a lawsuit on our hands….

Would i be rude in asking what you think of this website http://www.cheaplaptops.org.uk

  4. I took a look at your site Mark, and it looks helpful. Do you actually get review models of all the laptops you comment on? That’s a pretty cool job! 🙂

  5. I do get about half of the laptops that i review but most of the time i just find out the information by for example going into stores and testing them in the store. Say im interested in buying them and just test them….

Would be great if you could do an article on my site.

  6. I don’t you are liable for any lawsuit of any kind even if the video was copyrighted.

The video is hosted over at YouTube all that you are doing is linking/distributing the information that THEY provide and host.

If you could get sued then any link that pointed to a site with copyrighted material could be sued too if we go with that line of though.
