Time for a change?

A number of my friends are making changes in 2007. Good luck to all of them.

I’ve been enjoying my time in IBM Software Services – it is such a varied role. Who knows if I will make a change myself this year…

One thing we really do need to do in 2007 is find a house… we have a bunch of requirements:

  • good area
  • convenient(ish) for London (family, my work), Winchester (my work), Fareham (family), Farnborough (Ola’s work), airports, road and rail connections.
  • 3 bedroom (minimum)
  • parking for 2 cars
  • garden
  • affordable (!!! – I think we are long past that point)

We don’t care if it is run down, particularly. We are rapidly running out of space though, so the housing thing is high on the agenda for the next 12 months.

Flipping the domain switch

I own a domain (andypiper.co.uk – couldn’t get the .com), which I registered several years ago via UK2.net. It did already redirect here, via some stuff hosted on the UK2 servers.

I just flipped the DNS settings to enable the domain to be registered on the wordpress.com servers. Hopefully readers won’t notice the change. You can continue to get here via andypiper.wordpress.com, or you can use andypiper.co.uk if you prefer. Just don’t try the .com version, it isn’t mine 😦

Hope you have a great Christmas.

Frosted Hursley

Frosted sundial

Despite the fact that I often work in a fantastic location – when I’m not out with customers – yesterday was the first time that I actually took my camera with me to IBM Hursley. I took a walk around the grounds before 9 in the morning – the light was still limited, but everything was covered in frost, so it was too good to miss.

Take a look at the rest of my “frosted Hursley” set, and let me know what you think!

Still don’t get Plazes? Watch the videos

You may remember that I’m a Plazes enthusiast – see my profile, and read my previous posts on the subject.

I know that some of my readers are not yet convinced… my relatively small number of contacts on Plazes tells me so. If you want to know more, you can now watch some nice screencasts about the service, how it works, and how to use it.

In other crazy funky Plazes news, you can now discover places by SMS.

Anyone who wants an invitation, please let me know 😉
