Wait, doesn’t Posterous compete with Tumblr?

I like the concept of sending any file or content to Posterous by email, and the address is nice and easy to remember.

It’s worth noting that Tumblr lets me post via email too, though.

To prove the point I’m going to check and post this to both services πŸ™‚

  1. Hey, we’re so glad you’re here. Thanks for trying posterous and hope you’ll stay awhile. Let us know if we can help with anything — help@posterous.com.PS, we think we’re different from Tumblr for the record. We want to be the place where you host and keep all your stuff… from here, you post to all your other social media, Twitter, Facebook, etc, all from one email.

  3. Thanks Garry, much appreciated. I can see that there are a bunch of differences between this and Tumblr and I’m still learning about them. I’ll keep exploring πŸ™‚

  4. Awesome. Yeah, on one level we similar, but on the other hand we view Tumblr as an ally in the social web. We want to push to Tumblr so people can keep their communities there too. The Internet is so big that there is a lot of space for different players.
